Turning Sweat into Gold

One of the books that has had the greatest impact on me was Turning Sweat into Gold, by Bernardinho.

In this book, he tells the story behind the men's volleyball gold medal at the 2004 Olympics. It is fascinating to see how he managed to motivate athletes who had already come off an impressive streak of titles and had already achieved so much in the sport.

But the point that struck me most was what he says about success. For him:

Work + talent = success.

And he explains that work comes before talent for a simple reason: without work, even talent can go to waste.

And it makes sense. If you stop to think about it, even the most talented people need, at some point, to work hard to achieve success.

So, if I can offer one piece of advice, it is this: work hard so that your talent can shine and take you to SUCCESS.

 Think about it.
